The mission of the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Neurology is to promote dissemination of new information related to the field of neurovascular medicine. The scope of the journal includes basic science, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, disease prevention, epidemiology, and health care administration. Articles are published in a variety of formats: reviews, reports of original research, case reports, technical notes, letters, rebuttals, and editorials. To the extent that current technology allows, the journal is published in print and on the Internet, and supplemental materials such as videos, 3-D renderings, software, and hypertext links are made available electronically. We welcome manuscripts from outside the United States.
Authors are invited to submit their materials through the US mail or by e-mail to:

All hematological and clinical chemistry measurements should
be reported in the metric system in terms of the International
System of Units (SI). Alternative or non-SI units should be
added in parenthesis.

Clinical trials should be registered with a publicly accessible clinical trial registry, such as http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Registration number and registry URL should be supplied when submitting the manuscript. However, studies that are designed for other purposes, such as to study pharmacokinetics or major toxicity (e.g. phase 1 trials), are exempt. When reporting randomized controlled trials, please adhere to the CONSORT (Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials) statement (http://www.consort-statement.org)
The authors are notified with the reference number upon
manuscript registration at the Editorial Office. We encourage
authors to suggest the names of possible reviewers, but we reserve
the right of final selection. The evaluation process usually
takes 2 to 4 weeks. Submitted papers are accepted for publication
after a positive opinion of the independent reviewers.
When reporting experiments on human subjects, please indicate
whether the procedures were approved by the ethical
standards committee on human experimentation (institutional
or regional). Authors must comply with the guidelines of the
International Committee of Medical Journal Editors http://
www.icmje.org with regard to patient consent for research.
Do not use identifying information such as patients’ names,
initials, or hospital numbers anywhere in the manuscript (including
figures). Authors are responsible for obtaining patient
consent for any figure of a recognizable patient.

judgment on whether the material is published in the Journal
of Vascular and Interventional Neurology.
